TL;DR
The FPL Triple Captain is a chip that scores your captain triple instead of double for one gameweek. You get two: the first for Gameweeks 1 to 19, the second for Gameweeks 20 to 38. The best pick for Gameweek 6 is B.Fernandes on 7.0 expected points; the chip pays most in a double gameweek or the week your best captain has his softest home fixture.

How Does the Triple Captain Work in FPL?
- Your captain scores triple. For one gameweek the armband multiplies his points by three instead of two.
- The vice-captain is the backup. If your captain does not play, the triple passes to your vice-captain; if neither plays, the chip is used up with no bonus.
- No transfer comes with it. The player has to be in your squad already.
- Two Triple Captains a season. The first can be played from Gameweek 1 to 19 and the second from Gameweek 20 to 38, one chip per gameweek.
When Should You Triple Captain?
- In a double gameweek. Two fixtures give your captain two chances to score, which is the biggest ceiling the chip can get.
- On your best captain's softest home fixture. With no double in sight, the week your top premium plays at home to a weak side is the next best. The captain guide ranks this week's options.
- Never on a doubt. Check the team news: a rested captain hands the chip to your vice.
The chip optimizer scores every Triple Captain week against your squad, and each gameweek's Triple Captain post is linked from the GW6 tips.
Triple Captain vs Bench Boost
- Triple Captain backs one player, Bench Boost backs four. A standout captain in a double favours the Triple Captain; four strong bench players favour the Bench Boost.
- Both want a double gameweek. You can only play one chip a week, so if one double suits both, the other chip needs another double.
